History of the Firm

Bruce Knutson Architects, Inc. formed in 1975, has become one of the most respected boutique architect firms in the Twin Cites. A tightly knit group of designers provide outstanding services in architecture and related disciplines. Bruce Knutson, A.I.A. combines his vast experience in both architecture and construction to provide a unique cost effective, and award winning designs.

Since its inception Bruce Knutson Architects, Inc. has experienced perpetual growth and expansion, with projects ranging in scope from small home remodeling and additions to large custom residences, multi-million dollar condominiums and multi-family housing projects, offices, restaurants, and a wide variety of commercial and entertainment projects.

This broad experience provides us with a strong foundation to execute design projects of any magnitude. We have experience working all over the United States from California to Florida and numerous states in between with most of our projects being in Minnesota.

Philosophy

Our primary goal is the successful realization of our client's objectives. This success demands efficient communication between our talented design professionals and our clients. This collaboration that continues from the earliest stages through completion of the project to define program needs, basic concepts, imaginative solutions to various design challenges and details. We continually strive to provide a project that meets all the functional requirements of our clients with a unique design solution.

Organization

Bruce Knutson Architects, Inc. is led by Bruce Knutson, A.I.A., president. Bruce is the chief designer and is involved in the design and administration of the entire firm's projects.

Bruce does most of his work during the preliminary stages of the project including client contact, schematic drawings, review of all construction documents and detailing.

Each project is also assigned an experienced project manager who is responsible for design development, construction documents, and overall continuity of the project.

In addition, Bruce Knutson Architects, Inc. has a complete staff of draftperson, model makers, and print makers. The support personnel are assigned as necessary to insure the smooth, efficient production of required project materials.
